Global Power Technologies was established in 1975 to commercialize thermoelectric generator technology originally developed for the Apollo Space Program. Today, GPT is the world leader in the manufacturing and distribution of thermoelectric generators for use as remote power sources. GPT manufactures thermoelectric generators, from 5 to 550 watts, using heat to directly produce electrical power, and has expanded to provide high efficiency Combined Heat and Power generators up to 6kVA and Instrument Air Systems for eliminating methane venting. RELAM supplies high-quality, late–model railroad MOW equipment, hi-rail trucks, associated equipment, and parts & services to North America’s railroad operators, railway contracts, and transit authorities.

The sale to Petwin will help facilitate the next phase of growth for AWS while allowing the Company to continue its long-standing history of operational excellence, as the largest water and wastewater solutions provider in Western Canada. AWS was founded in Edmonton, AB in 1967, initially operating as a manufacturer of burial vaults. The Company quickly diversified into manufacturing septic tanks and water cisterns, and today it stands as the largest supplier of water and wastewater septic systems, cisterns, lift stations and holding tanks to both residential and commercial customers across Western Canada, while maintaining its roots in manufacturing burial and urn vaults. Petwin Bancorp Inc. is a diversified investment company with operations in Calgary, Edmonton, Winnipeg, Vancouver, Phoenix, Las Vegas, and Hawaii. AWS is the third platform company added to Petwin’s private equity portfolio, joining AGM Glass Fabricators, acquired in 2023, and Pacific Radiator Mfg. Ltd., acquired in May of 2024.

The sale to WGI will bring tremendous synergies to Prairie Steel by leveraging the resources of one of Canada’s largest manufacturers of steel products. The transaction will further enhance the Company’s ability to provide timely and exceptional service to customers in Saskatchewan and throughout the Prairie region. The senior team at Prairie Steel will continue to lead the Company post-acquisition and will work closely with WGI leadership to expand their product offerings and geographic reach. Prairie Steel Products Ltd. was founded 49 years ago and has established a strong reputation for exceptional quality products including engineered steel building systems, CSA-certified steel culverts and Goebel-branded steel grain bins and hoppers. Today, the Company has a team of over 50 employees and is a leader in manufacturing quality steel products for commercial and industrial customers in Canada. WGI Westman Group Inc. was founded in 1976 and is headquartered in Winnipeg, Manitoba. WGI has over 2,000 team members based in 80 facilities throughout North America, designing, manufacturing and selling products for a world-wide customer base for use in the agriculture, oil & gas, infrastructure, recreational, industrial, commercial and residential sectors.

Sequeira Partners was engaged by the shareholders of Thompson to assist them in identifying and pursuing a transaction with a best-fit partner to allow existing shareholders to monetize their investment in the business and support future growth. The sale to Hillcore will help facilitate the next phase of growth for Thompson while allowing the Company to continue to operate as one of the most reputable heavy civil contractors in Western Canada. Sequeira Partners was engaged to assist Roughrider through a sales process which would allow the shareholders to monetize their investment in the Company and help the business through its next phase of growth. The Sequeira team provided advisory assistance throughout the transaction including providing an initial valuation, identifying value added prospective purchasers, marketing the business, managing the due diligence process and negotiating transaction terms. The acquisition of Roughrider by MMG is one of only a very few transactions whereby an Indigenous community has acquired one of its partner companies. The transaction allowed our client to monetize their investment in the business while increasing MMG’s essential services to the oil sands. Headquartered in Fort McMurray, Roughrider International specializes in services and a diversity of available equipment for heavy and light industry needs and creates highly customized energy solutions from managing, distributing, and storing diesel and lubricants, to providing off-road vacuum truck services, sales, lease, and rental of specialized off-road equipment, including turn-key managed services in the oil sands region of Northern Alberta. McKay Métis Group Ltd. (MMG) is a social enterprise owned by the Fort McKay Métis Nation (FMMN). MMG boasts a very diverse group of businesses providing support to the oil sands. The Company specializes in services such as cranes, security, tree clearing, infrastructure services, PPE supply, chemicals, fuel and lube, road maintenance and snow removal, site amenities and more. The Company’s earnings provide Fort McKay Métis Nation members access to affordable housing, education, elders & youth services, economic development, and infrastructure.
