Built in person. Used all year. CapFive is not a directory of firms that happen to share a logo. Members meet regularly at global and regional conferences to share live mandates, compare market intelligence, exchange best practice and spend meaningful time with the people they may need on the next cross-border deal. Those meetings build the trust and familiarity that make the network faster to use, easier to navigate and more valuable long after everyone has gone home.

The theme speaks to more than capital crossing borders. It reflects the relationships, insight and trust that make opportunity move across markets. At a time of geopolitical complexity, market uncertainty and shifting investor confidence, CapFive’s global network offers something increasingly valuable: trusted advisors who understand their local markets and collaborate with confidence across borders. The London meeting brought that strength to life – creating space for partners to exchange intelligence, deepen relationships and turn global connection into meaningful opportunity. Because in complex times, capital moves best when it moves with trust, expertise and shared international perspective

Our partners bet on each other: for trusted collaboration, for cross-border deal execution, and for the kind of deep industry expertise that turns complex challenges into strategic wins. This mutual confidence isn't just symbolic—it’s foundational. Because when CapFive partners collaborate, clients reap the rewards. Time and again, our collective efforts have delivered results that outpace expectations, generating value across markets and industries. In a world where trust and global connectivity are more critical than ever, CapFive’s model continues to prove its worth—one deal, one relationship, one success at a time.

Amid shifting geopolitics, technological disruption, and rising client expectations, we stands out through our unique blend of local insight and international reach. Our growing partnerships, ongoing brand evolution, and adoption of AI platforms reflect the value of our connected network. As we convene in Basel, we celebrate a community that is not only scaling businesses but also setting the global benchmark for excellence in M&A.

We had economists, strategists, best practice specialists and tons of networking and dealmaking to ensure that CapFive clients achieve the optimum outcome.

The key priorities being to continuously improve cooperation's between CapFive members. 45 professional investment bankers met and shared knowledge and insight in the wonderful Stockholm.

Members converged from over 40 countries to discuss collaboration, the M&A market and to strengthen business relationships.
For CapFive, the mid-market is not a vague label. Member firms typically advise on M&A and corporate finance transactions with enterprise values in the region of US$10m–US$250m, while recognising that deal sizes naturally vary between markets, sectors and transaction types.
That shared focus matters. It means members tend to be working with similar kinds of businesses, owners and investors, facing many of the same commercial realities. An introduction from another CapFive firm is therefore more likely to be relevant. Sector knowledge is easier to apply. Buyer and investor conversations make more sense.
And when a mandate crosses borders, the colleague being brought in understands the pace, complexity and level of attention that mid-market clients expect.
CapFive is deliberately built around that space – significant transactions where international reach can create real value, but where relationships, experience and practical advice still matter enormously.
No. CapFive is a global network of independent M&A and corporate finance advisory firms.
Every member firm is independently owned and managed, has its own clients and is responsible for the advice and services it provides. CapFive does not turn those firms into branches of one international organisation or ask them to give up the local identity, relationships and market knowledge that made them successful in the first place.
What the network does is connect those independent firms far more effectively. When a client needs expertise, relationships or deal support in another market, their adviser can reach colleagues they already know and trust rather than starting from scratch.
Clients keep the closeness and accountability of an independent adviser, while gaining access to a much wider international network when the transaction calls for it.
Independent where it matters. Connected where it creates value.
CapFive can add value before a mandate is even secured. A member firm pursuing an opportunity can draw on colleagues across the network for insight on the buyer universe, sector dynamics, local market conditions, valuation benchmarks or experience from relevant past transactions.
Once the mandate is secured, the member firm holding the mandate stays firmly in the lead. It manages the client relationship and the transaction, and decides when input from other CapFive members would strengthen the process.
That involvement can be as much or as little as the deal requires. A colleague in another market might help identify or approach local buyers, provide sector expertise, share transaction experience, make an introduction or support a particular part of the process. Sometimes a quick market view is all that is needed; on other transactions, collaboration may be much more involved.
The important point is that the adviser leading the engagement remains in control. CapFive extends the knowledge, relationships and reach available to that adviser without taking over the client relationship or adding unnecessary layers.
The network flexes around the deal, not the other way round.
Most good M&A firms do. The difference is between having contacts and having a network you can use repeatedly.
CapFive gives members an established group of peer firms working in the same part of the market, supported by the relationships and infrastructure that make collaboration easier. Members can share live mandates, buyer searches and opportunities, access market and sector knowledge, find the right colleague in another country and draw on shared resources through the private member platform.
Just as importantly, people meet. Regular global and regional conferences, structured one-to-one meetings, deal discussions and member forums mean relationships develop beyond a name in an address book.
That changes the quality of an international introduction. You are not searching LinkedIn for somebody in another country when a client asks a question on Friday afternoon. You are calling someone you have met, worked with or spent meaningful time getting to know.
The network turns international reach from a claim on a pitch deck into something a firm can actually use.
Actively.
Members use the network to circulate relevant mandates, buyer searches, acquisition criteria, investor requirements and other transaction opportunities. The aim is not to send everything to everybody. It is to get useful opportunities in front of the people who are genuinely well placed to help.
A sell-side adviser may be looking for buyers in several international markets. A corporate client may want acquisition targets in a particular country. A member may need sector knowledge, an investor introduction or simply a local view before deciding how to approach an opportunity.
CapFive creates direct routes into the network for those conversations. Members can then respond with relevant contacts, ideas, market intelligence or deal support, and the originating firm decides where collaboration makes sense for the mandate.
This commercial exchange is a central part of the network. CapFive should not simply look international on a map. International relationships should create conversations, introductions and opportunities that would have been harder to reach alone.
By spending real time together.
CapFive holds global and regional conferences throughout the year, but they are designed to do considerably more than fill a room with presentations.
Members discuss live deals, meet one-to-one, exchange market intelligence, share what is working inside their firms and explore where they can help one another. There are structured deal meetings and best-practice sessions, but there is also the time around them – over coffee, dinner or a conversation that runs long because two firms discover they have more in common than they realised.
That matters more than it might sound. When a live cross-border opportunity appears, trust cannot suddenly be manufactured. Knowing how another firm works, where its strengths lie and who to call makes collaboration quicker and more natural.
The relationships are built in person. The value of them continues all year.
CapFive does not believe an international network becomes valuable simply by adding more pins to a map.
The strength is in who those firms are, what they know and how well they work together.
Member firms are established independent advisers with deep roots in their local markets. They understand the people, businesses, buyers, investors and nuances that are difficult to see from a distance. They share a genuine focus on the mid-market and come together internationally when that creates value for a client or an opportunity for another member.
At the same time, CapFive does not ask strong independent firms to become generic branches of an international organisation. Local ownership, entrepreneurial culture and client relationships remain intact.
The result is a deliberately practical model: local firms with genuine market standing, connected through trusted relationships and built to collaborate across borders.
For us, the question is never simply how many countries are represented?
It is what can members do together that would be harder to do alone?
We are selective because every new member changes the network.
CapFive is looking for independent M&A and corporate finance firms with a genuine mid-market focus, where advisory work is a core part of the business rather than an occasional service. Firms should have experienced senior advisers, a strong reputation in their market, sufficient capacity to execute high-quality mandates and a credible record of originating and completing transactions.
Just as importantly, there needs to be the right mindset. A good CapFive member wants to collaborate. They see value in sharing opportunities, making introductions, bringing colleagues into pitches or mandates where appropriate and helping another member when they have something useful to contribute.
We also look carefully at strategic fit. A prospective firm should strengthen CapFive's geographic coverage, sector knowledge or capability rather than simply adding another logo.
And because collaboration needs clarity, firms would generally not be committed to another international M&A alliance that creates a meaningful conflict with their participation in CapFive.
Quality matters. Fit matters. Participation matters.
We generally try to avoid unnecessary overlap.
In many markets, the strongest model is to have one well-established member firm with the breadth, reputation and commitment to represent that geography effectively. It gives members clarity about who to call and gives the local firm a meaningful position within the network.
But we would not turn that principle into an inflexible rule where it does not make commercial sense. A large or complex market may require broader coverage. A highly specialised firm may bring expertise that complements an existing member rather than competing with it. Geography, sector specialism and the shape of the local M&A market all matter.
So membership is considered on strategic fit, not simply whether a country already has a dot on the map.
Where there is potential overlap, we would rather discuss it openly during the membership process than create ambiguity later.
The aim is strong coverage, clear relationships and a network in which members can genuinely create value for one another.
Start with a conversation.
If you run an independent M&A or corporate finance firm, work primarily in the mid-market and believe international collaboration could strengthen what you offer your clients, we would like to hear from you.
We will want to understand your firm, your market, the work you do, where you see opportunities to collaborate internationally and what you are looking for from a network. Equally, you should have the chance to understand CapFive properly and decide whether the people, model and ambitions feel right for your firm.
If there is a strong fit, we can then talk through the membership process and next steps.
No hard sell. The right starting point is simply a good conversation.
Why CapFive
CapFive is built for independent mid-market M&A firms that want greater international reach without giving up the relationships, reputation or autonomy they have built at home. Membership creates practical ways to win, execute and refer work across borders, while each firm stays firmly in control of its clients and business.
CapFive member firms focus on M&A and corporate finance in the mid-market, typically advising on transactions with enterprise values of US$10m–US$250m. That shared deal profile makes introductions more relevant, sector knowledge more useful and cross-border opportunities easier to act on.
Members remain independently owned, locally led and responsible for their own clients and decisions. CapFive supports that independence with a private member platform, shared resources and direct access to trusted colleagues across markets – without adding layers between a firm and its client.
Membership is built around active collaboration, not a logo. Members share mandates, buyer searches and market intelligence, and meet through global and regional conferences, one-to-one sessions and member forums. Those relationships turn international reach into something firms can actually use.
The Network in Action
Each transaction stays led by the member firm managing the client relationship. When a deal crosses borders or needs specialist expertise, trusted CapFive colleagues are brought in where they add value. The relationship stays clear, while the network extends what is possible.
CapFive member firms share the same commitment to quality, responsiveness and rigorous deal execution, while bringing the judgement that comes from knowing their own market. Clients get consistency where it matters, without losing the local insight that can shape a transaction.
Clients work directly with the advisers responsible for the mandate, from the first conversation through to completion. Sector or market expertise is brought in when it adds value, without adding layers or losing clarity over who is accountable.
Every CapFive member firm remains independently owned, locally led and responsible for its own client relationships. The network adds trusted reach, relationships and expertise across borders without diluting the identity, autonomy or market knowledge that make each firm distinctive.
